Hi Gurus,
I'm using Crystal Reports 9.0, I'm trying to export data in the report into Oracle database using EXPORT feature in Crystal reports, but I'm getting errors like
- Failed to export Report
- [datadirect][ODBC Oracle Driver][Oracle]ora-00972: Identifier is too long

Can anybody help solving this problem.

Thanks,
Gragi

Hi,
from the Oracle docs (handy things to read if you are using Oracle) ( assuming v9 since no version info was given - same thing applies to 8)

ORA-00972 identifier is too long

Cause: The name of a schema object exceeds 30 characters. Schema objects are tables, clusters, views, indexes, synonyms, tablespaces, and usernames.

Action: Shorten the name to 30 characters or less.

Thanks for ur reponse.
I'm using Oracle 8i, and my table name is also less than 10 characters.

Thanks,

Hi,
Any spaces, special chars( anything other than alpha or _ )
in names?

Try switching to the Native Driver for Oracle
( Under More Data Sources..Oracle Server)

If you're using the Oracle supplied Oracle ODBC driver, switch to either Crystal Native connectivity, which is the fastest, or the Crystal supplied Oracle ODBC driver.

-k

I've used CR Oracle ODBC Driver 4.10.

Thanks
Gragi
