This rebuild error started happening in IE 5.0, i believe after the installation of one of the MS security patches, and is still occuring after the updates to 5.1 and 5.5. It is the only symptom of a problem that I have. Everything on the PC works properly.
When I do a Rebuild of Internet Explorer in Add/remove programs. I receive the following error.
" An error occured while setting up: C:\windows\System\shdocvw.dll.
This error has been logged and installation will continue."
I have questioned Microsoft Tech Support about the problem and they have no solution, other than Formating and reinstalling, Which I do not want to do.
I was hoping someone here may have seen the problem and resolved it.
