Error Download Mail at Linux 5.2

We have a Linux Mail Server and were downloading it from a workstation using Outlook Express.. some of the mail account work but some of them did not...The error that appears on my outlook is : An IMAP Command did not Complete successfully.Could not select specified folder on the IMAP Server.You might try refreshing your folder list to synchronize with the imap Server. And If i Click on the details there's also a message that tells: Can't open INBOX (file /var/spool/mail/jon): not in valid mailbox format .....thanks for the reply that you may serve...

Have you checked the permissions on the named INBOX file?
You can also try to move the mailfile to a save place, write a new mail to user "jon" and try to access it from outlook again.
