Hi there,

Am getting this error on failed recurring instances intermittently on some reports.

Error detected by database DLL

Re-running again using schedule now, creates instance ok.

Using Crystal Enterprise v8.5 in clustered environment.

BO KBase did not provide much help.

Any ideas ?

Hi, Can you check the time they failed and see if the datasource may have been down?

I agree with Turkbear, that is the most likely culprit for this very nebulous error.

Hi Turkbear and rhinok,

There are several reports going against the same datasource, possibly scheduled to start at the same time.

So, we know that the datasource is up and running.

Not sure if this is contention issue.

One or two may fail. When re-running the failed reports, they run okay. So, we know that the database tables match those specified in the report.

To eliminate these failures, have set retries.

However, still like to know what is causing these failures owing to error detected by database DLL.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thks
