Hi all

I have a problem with my newly installed Sharepoint 2003 with SQL server. It seems that everything is set correctly but unfortunately I receive the error from Office 2003 SP1 on a client when trying to upload/share a documet:

"The action could not be copmpleted. For more information contact your site administrator or try again later"

I created a portal site (xx) with the URL but when users make a document and will make i document workspace using the method "Tools --> shared documents" it gives me the error.

Does anyone have a clue what to do which makes it possible to create a new document workspace for my users.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Hello,

Have you checked the user rights so that a user have sufficient rights to create a workspace or to create a folder to upload content to.

I might have missunderstood you, but it does sound like you have a user right problem. Or is it you that try to create the workspace for the users and that fail?

Regards,
Thomas

Hi

It is when the user tries to upload a e.g WORD-document from office 2003. Here the user has the option to "create new workspace" and that operation fails. The user has Adminstrator rights !!!!!

Hello,

If the user has Admin rights then it should not be a userrights problem! I did some testing on my test portal, but was unable to re-create the problem everything worked perfectly.

Have you checked the event logs and sql logs to see if you can find anything suspicious there?

Regards,
Thomas

Hi Thomas

Thanks for replies. I found the problem......:)

I didn't install the Analysis Service from the SQL server 2000 and the Sharepoint Services from the Project CD.

Now I think it is running. I still have some security issues to handle but I will post a new issue for that one.

Thanks
