error connecting to pervasive database via odbc

connection Manager is not running at the specified port number.

on windows xp connecting to a novell server where the database is running. Port numbers seem right. This question was posted before but no one answered. I appreciate any help you can give me.

A few questions:
- What version of PSQL are you using?
- Are you trying to connect via SPX or TCP/IP?
- Can you connect using the Btrieve interface?
- Does PSA (Pervasive SYstem Analyzer) return any errors on the network test or the relational test?
- Do all clients fail or is it just this one? If it's just this one, what's different about it?
