Hey all,

I am running Win2k pro and have a drive mapped to a file server (Win2K Server) using the net use command. If I haven't accessed the network drive in a while, I get the error:

An error occurred while reconnecting I: \\%servername%\%drivepath% Microsoft Windows Network : The local device name is already in use.

If I try many times I am able to connect. Then leaving it idle for a while, it disconnects and gives me the same error.

The Windows 98 machines connect fine and the XP's do too. Just a few 2000 machines have problems.

Does anyone else have this problem or a solution to this?

Thanks

Go to Security Options in Local Security Policy (under Control Panel / Administrative Tools)and change the value for "Amount of idle time required before disconnecting session" to 0.

Hope this helps
