Error Codes 1

Does anyone know what these error codes mean in IE?
They come up randomly and sometimes several times while browsing.

*****
Unable to open the Redirector service. Redirector performance data will not
be returned. Error code returned is in data DWORD 0.

Unable to read IO control information from NBT device.

Sounds as if you have a corrupt registry setting for IE. What OS are you using?

Duhhhhh...Silly of me for not putting this little bit 'o information in. Win 2000 Pro. IE ver 5.5

Actually, it's my parents box I am working on. I have installed the latest patches and such, deleted some "junk" programs that "some how" got down loaded that were to 'help' IE.

After this, the error messages are fewer, but still there. The only other option I can think of is doing a complete re-install of IE 5.5.

I would suggest uninstalling IE5.5 and reinstall it to see if that fixes it. Aother option is to install the IE6 public beta and see what happens.

I thought about this, installing beta 6, but since this in my Dad's machine, I decided not to.

Actually, he called me a little while ago, and IE seems to have straightened out since I downloaded the service packs.
