Error Code 5, Error code 5 - access is denied on shadow attempt

I created a desktop with a shortcut to the shadow tool for our training dept. When they try to shadow they get the error code 5 and the session is dropped.

What can i do to fix this? The training dept is on my case to get it working.

Sounds like you have application security turned on. You need to authorize shadow.exe. Either that or give them admin rights.

The training group does have admin rights, how do i enbable shadow.exe for application security??

I believe in the properties for shadow.exe, you need to grant rights to your users wanting to shadow. Also do the same for the tdpipe.sys file.

Open Citrix Connection Configuration. Single click on the ica-tcp conneciton and click on Security>Permissions.
Add the training group and click the advanced button. Put a check mark in the shadow box.

Know you should be able to shadow.

Also make sure that the person starting the shaddow has a higher screen resolution and collor than the person they are shadowing.
