In access 2003 I have a small amount of code, I have mistyped a control reference in the code ie. instead of
me![codeval] i put [me1[codval], in Access 97 an error message appeared when i try to run, but im not getting this in 2003, all error checking turned on - please help if u can.

Are you saying that the code compiles without error?

Yes, program compiles ok with no errors, and even in immediate window set warnings true has no effect

If you have Option Explicit at the top of your class module then maybe you need to do a repair install of Access. Or maybe inport everything into a new mdb and then give it a try. It sure looks like something is definately not right with your system.

Yes, still a problem, when i run the report the screen just flashes and gives no result, as soon as i spell the name correctly no problem, this can be a real pain when lots of controls are mentioned in code.

I cant explain how grateful I am to you for your suggestion, i have been trying to suss this for days, you pointed me in the right direction, i imported the report and table into a new db and erors appeared, brillianr forum and great feedback - many thanks ***
