Error: cannot connect to accpac signon manager

One of my clients is getting an error "cannot connect to accpac signon manager" when they try to open a windows session of Accpac. Apparently one of them can overcome this when she reboots her workstation, the other one says he's never been able to connect.

Any tips where I can start looking?

Ooops, sorry for the lack of detail.

Advantage Series version 53A.
Pervasive Database.
I'm pretty sure they have the latest service packs (SP3?)

I think they are all XP Pro, but will need to confirm that.

Local Administrator on PC - I will need to ask them that too.

Make sure the \ACCPAC\RUNTIME is in the environment settings for the workstation.
