Error, Can not open file

I am working normally with 3dmax 5 and I save my file as usual before I quit. Next time I run 3dmax and try to open that file the program hangs and sends me back to the desktop.
I have the same problem when I click the file from the Windows Explorer, it hangs and sends me back to the desktop.
Please, Can anyone tell me what's the problem with that file!

Are you on Windows 2000 with SP4? If so do a search on the MS knowledge base for this problem with max files and it will give you a solution.
