There are three svchost.exe applications running simeltaneously in the system.
When connected to internet (dial up) within few minuts, error window
pops up telling "svchost.exe has generated error and this application will be closed"
when clicked on CANCEL button, error window get closed
and if you start any new application then problem starts.
It will not let you
1) Edit, Cut or Paste a single character.
2) sign in to MSN messenger.
( It tells you are behind a Fire wall although firewall is not set )
3) save any HTML file
4) No buttons with script code attached to it works.
(e.g. DELETE button whiile checking email)
5) DisConnect internet using mouse click.
( you need to switch off modem to disconnect)
and when MS Word file is opened it give some error messege again.
It also haults functioning of AntiVirus programme (Norton 2003 updated)
This problem is faced only when connected to internet.
which svchost.exe file out of three is causing the problem?
what could be the reason?
any solutions ? or suspect virus/worm ?

o/s: WIN 2K Professional. Browser: IE 5.00.2920.0000 (56 bit)
