Error Booting from System Partition

I'm prepping a previously used Proliant 2500 for use with Netware 5.1. I ran the System Erase utility to wipe out the previous configuration. I fdisk'd the drives. I flashed the firmware for the board, the Smart Array controller, the tape drive and for the three hard drives without error. I created the raid 5 array. I installed the System Config Utility (v. 2.58) and included Server Diagnostic 11.03 and Drive Array Diagnostics as part of the system partition. I then created my DOS partition and installed DOS. Upon reboot I get "error booting from system partition".

I started from scratch and got the same error. I then bypassed the SCU files and just created a small DOS partition and formatted it. Still won't boot to c:. I ran the full diagnostic and only got an error on the cd because I did not have a disk in it to test.

This was a production server about 2 weeks ago so I'm fairly confident that it is not a hardware issue. This is the fourth 2500 I've worked on the in past month and this is the first time I've encountered this problem. Any suggestions?

When you run the system erase, your next step should be to boot off your SmartStart CD and configure your server. You don't want to fdisk or create any partitions until this is done.

ALternatively, try booting up using a DOS disk and performing an "FDISK /MBR" on the C: partition. -----------------------------------------------------
