ERROR after log-on

I am getting this ERROR right after the log-on screen.

Windows cannot load the user's profile but has logged you on with the default profile for the system.

DETAIL - The system has attempted to load or restore a file into the registry, but the specified file is not in a registry file format.

Is this a virus or can this be fixed? There is only one Profile (curent) on this PC.

It sounds like a corrupt profile, I believe there are two options.

1) Use System Restore to go back to a date before the problem happened.

Start > Programs > Accessories > system Tools > System Restore

2) Create a new profile and copy your user files to it, see
