error accessing btrieve 6.15 files in win2k

btrieve error S027; btrieve error number 46 has occured during operation [3]. I'm running Microkernel database engine v6.15.1, DOS/4a Protected Mode Run-time Ver 1.97 and Protected Mode Switch Program for Dos ver 1.01. My application works fine on windows 95 systems, but get above error on win2k systems. If the 95 systems do not access the program the win2k system can access program but can not access any files I get a "lock" error.

Any help would be appreciated.
