Error 8604

Several Mailboxes I am backing up at brick level are failing. When I attempt to view the contents of these mailboxes I am unable to expand the mailbox to show the sub folders. The error msg is EC=EXCH Exchange Agent --- (429) "Fail to open Information store".
I have checked the exchange permissions and they are ok.
Any Ideas !!!!

are you able to open these mailboxes and the subfolders within them using Outlook..

do you have enough memory\free space on the Exchange server
Run Isinteg with the "alltests" switch

I wouldn't run ISINTEG at all. That would be used for exchange database corruption - you are nowhere near that.

Arcserve 2000 Sp3 ( MUST be applied before applying this Post-Sp3 fix:

- Brick level backups fail with the error: E8604
Failed to Start Backup (EC=429) The DBAXCHG2.LOG
file on the Exchange Server shows the following
error messages:

ERROR: Fail to Open Information Store: MAPI return
code[8004011d] FAILED: Open Information Store ---
ErrorCode:[29] ERROR : EXCH Exchange Agent -- (429)
"Fail to Open Information Store".

I had the same problem as you & the above resolved it.
