I have a client that is running Netware 5.xx Server
Using Pervasive 2000
and workstastions using Platinum for Windows/Batchmaster.

When I go into the Pervasive Control Center to increase FILES I don't see the Database name in the list ,I only see the DEMODATA name. I connected to server but only see demodata. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Kevin

The "Open FIles" setting is actually in the COnfiguration node, not the database name node. You will need to restart the engine (with NetWare, that basically means the server since
NetWare uses Btrieve too) for the setting change to take effect.

One more thing, newer versions of Pervasive (can't remember when it started) have dynamic file handles that eliminate the status 86. If you've got your open files set high enough and you're still getting the 86, you'll want to contact Platinum to find out why they are returning an incorrect error code.

I am familiar with btrieve because of solomon 2.06, I got stuck with this client and been a real pain. Thanks I will let you know my progress. do you know if there is an ODBC client that I can use to view the tables in access or whatever.

With Pervasive.SQL 2000, ODBC drivers are installed as part of the standard client. If Platinum decided not to supply them, you'll need to talk to Platinum. You'll also need DDFs.
Solomon 2.06 was old when I started working with Btrieve/Pervasive.. It's gotten a lot better since then (but still has the Btrieve interface)
