Error 850E

We are running Groupwise 5.5 sp2a on a Netware 5.1 server. We had one user who sent an email to another user and for some reason, this has never happened before, she received the email back stating a subject line of "GRL is undeliverable for NM/IUPA" and in the body of the message it stated " Error value - 850E". The returned email also appeared as if it came from the user, GRL, the person she was trying to email. A couple of hours later, she noticed the undeliverable email and resent it and it worked fine. Has ANYONE seen this happen before? There were no abends or problems on the server at this time. PLEASE HELP

I would double check your server and/or logs. I'm not sure about the subject line, but 850e errors usually point towards something wrong or service failure on the server.

If a process was terminated prematurely, you can get those errors. Which wouldn't be a big deal. However, if something has abended, you may see more of those down the road. -- which as you know could turn into a big deal.

As you examine your logs, see if anything may have terminated or abended during that time frame. Also, it may be a good idea to run a GWCHK with maintenance/database/fix options selected. You will also want to validate the DB.
