Hi all,

I was testing a script at a local server, and it's working fine. But when I uploaded it to my host, the following error showed up:

Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80040e21'

Cannot use Memo, OLE, or Hyperlink Object field 'Description' in the SELECT clause of a union query.

/allprintings/secure/admin/newad.asp, line 146

Does anyone know why? Thanks in advance.

Winnie

it could be the reserved words that u use in one of your field names
Code:
Description
.
Change your field names

Hi JJ26,

Thanks for your help. But the error is still there after I changed the field name. Any other idea?

I used to get this message. This was happening because i was using 'like' in a memo field. When i switched to string 255 chars it worked fine.

If it works , let me know. Good luck

I use to have this problem in the past, it occurs when you are using an Access Database and you do not provide the correct path to your .mdb file.

Try changing this manually in your Global.ASA file, in the Session("xxx_ConnectionString) where xxx is the name of your database. Please make sure that the correct path in your host is written in the dbq insert of this string, it should read something like this:

DBQ=x:\\geocities\mywebpage\databases..

If you send me additional information i can give you more help,

regards
