error 80004005 in asp

Hi all,

I've developed an application with ASP that is connecting through to a remote database (Pervasive SQL running on Novel).
Once in a while, the users get the error bellow:
"Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'
[Pervasive Software][ODBC Interface][Pervasive Software SQL Engine]General error. "

The "quick" fix is to reboot the server!
Does anybody know why we get the error or where to look for problems?

Any HELP would be greatly appreciated!

Which server are you rebooting? Is it the Novell or the NT/2000 server? The "general error" is just that, a very general error that can mean a number of things. One thing to check is the PVSW.LOG on both the Novell server and the NT/2000 machine. THat might help. Also, check for patterns in the error. If it happens at the same time of the day, that might help narrow down what's happening. Another thing to try if you can narrow it down would be to turn on ODBC tracing from the MS ODBC Administrator. Mirtheil

It's the NT server that has to be rebooted.
I'll check the logs and turn on ODBC tracing.
