Win2K AD Domain, with server configured for RRAS.
Linksys RV042 router behind Actiontec GT701 modem in bridged mode acting as Gateway. The Linksys has PPTP, IPSec, and L2TP all enabled, with the appropriate ports forwarded to the Win2K server. I've downloaded the most recent firmware for the Linksys (1.3.7.4).
When I try to log on using the VPN, the computer hangs on "Verifying user name and password." Then I get Error 721, with the message "Disconnected. The remote computer is not responding." This happens whether I am trying to log onto the VPN from within the LAN or from outside, which seems to be different from other similar posts I've seen here. Also, when I try to log in from within the LAN (not sure about outside) the network loses its connectivity. The switch port that the Linksys is plugged into goes dark, and things don't come back up until I reboot the computer from which I was trying to use the VPN.
This is my first shot at a VPN, so there's probably something simple that I'm missing, but I'd appreciate any help.
