error 7 out of memory

I'm trying to load a large recordset into a flexgrid.
The rec-count is 37214 records. When I check absolute position I'm at 3500 when it blows up giving me the error 7. Could it be this is max records allowed in a grid or could there be a system memory problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

correction to above. Absolute position is 34997 when error occurs
