Hi

I have some problems with modems with Windows 2000 Professional. When I try to access the internet i can't dial. If i go in Control Panel - Modems and ask to query modem, i get perfectly, but when i try to connect the internet occurs message:

Opening port...
Error 680: there was no dial tone

This occurs only with computers with windows 2000 professional. I try do access the internet with other system operating Microsoft and the modem works perfectly.

I need help, please!!

Look for an option in your Modem's properties that states check for dial tone before dialing, and uncheck that.

Please always take the time to backup any and all data before performing any actions suggested for ANY problem, regardless of how minor a change it might seem. Also test the backup to make sure it is intact.
