Error 629 and RNAAP

Just bought a new machine for a satellite office. Got an HP Vectra with Windows 98 and Office XP professional edition. Have an email account with Earthlink.net. I couldn't get the machine to connect, so I called Earthlink. I kept getting Error: 629, You have been disconnected from the compueter you dialed. Their customer service guy indicated that RNAAP running in the background will not allow me to connect. This seems to be a problem for HP's. Anyone got any ideas on this one?
