there is a server with SCO unix. After 15 days I make a restart. After that it dismount the tape device and I can not mount it. Does anybody has any idea?

What are meaning by dismount and mount a tape device ?

I mean that when I restart the system after 15 days, the tape device does not exist in the system. The same have been working for 15 days before the restart.

And what about a
Code:
 tape status
command (with proper cartridge inserted) ?

What kind of system? What kind of tape drive?
I've generally found that SCSI tapes that disappear on my unix machines happen because they fail to identify on the SCSI bus scan. They usually fail on POST bus scan too.

If you have /usr/adm/messages you can see what the last boot found for devices.
