Each time I try to print a Cash Receipts Journal report, it interuppted progress with an error message. I clicked on the "info" button and it displayed "Error #47: Substring reference out of string.". I deleted the whole batch (planning to re-enter them as soon as this problem is fixed). I clicked on "Cash Receipts Journal" again as if there WAS a batch in there that needed to have its journal printed, and instead of giving me the message that there were no batches in there, it acted as if it was getting ready to print and gave me the same error problems.

Any suggestions?

Many thanks
Bart

The error 47 is very generic. Are you sure that this is the only error information. With the info you are not getting a line number or program name? (example Error 47 line 1630 Program ARWJBA). Without more information I can only give you broad possible solutions.

Have you tried rebuilding the applcation key files yet (AR9 and ARA) ?

If that does not work you can manually reinitialze these two files. Be very carefull that you only select AR9 and ARA as this will delete all the data in these two files.

AR9 = Cash Receipts Data Entry Header File
ARA = Cash Receipts Data Entry Line File

Also which version of MAS are you currently running ?

You will get this message if you apply ar amounts to a gl code, or job number, and delete either after entry of the receipt, but before posting the receipt.

Usualy with the substring error, it will tell you when you press info, what string is missing.
