Hi all,

I am getting an error when I try to run my VB app. I built the app with some ado code + controls and referenced the msado25 type library. Everything worked great until.... I recently updated to Service pack 5 for VB6 and realized there is a 'Microsoft ActiveX data objects 2.6 library. So I changed my reference to this instead of 2.5. Then when I loaded the new executable on some other computers I received error 430 'Class does not support automation or does not support expected interface'

From what info I found, it seems that I need to un-register the old msado25 from the machine with regsvr32 but this does not work. There is no msado25 on the machine??? I think maybe it is some related dll??? not sure??? MSDN also mentioned about compiling as binary, but this is only possible for a dll project, not a exe project.

If I reference the msado25 in my project I am having a problem creating an install as it is saying no data is found on msado25. The last thing that is strange to me is that I do not get this error on my machine, where the project was designed. Just on other machines that previously had the app installed.

Any help is greatly appreciated...

Regards,

Mike
