Error 403

Hi

I am currently trying to deply an application on Tomcat using JDBCRealm for authentication purposes. I have had lots of problems already (questions already posed) which I managed to get around. However, what I am now finding is that when I try to install the application I am getting back an error 403. What might cause this, and how might I go about fixing it? I can log into Tomcat admin through the JDBCRealm without any problems.

Make sure you have checked Execute Access for the jakarta virtual directory in the Advanced Options of the Personal Web Manager.
If the above settings are correct, the index.html page should appear in your browser. You should also be able to click the Execute links to execute the JSP examples

Thanks for your response. However, my web server is on Solaris so I cannot get to this Personal Web Manager, which is an IIS thing.

The search for a solution goes on!!

Ok I guess you have started tomcat in run mode and watched the output for clues to your problem ?

So instead of tomcat4 start ..... do tomcat4 run .... this will run in foreground and chatter to the terminal .... usual "ctrl C" to kill.

Cheers! I have actually managed to get it working myself, it was a stupid mistake by me, as these kind of problems usually are!

I would tell you what it was, but I honestly can't remember, so I am kinda screwed if it ever happens again!
