Error -4 opening Cognos 5

All clients are with Windows 2000 pro
in some clients i get

Error number -4:

DMS-E-SECURITY, An operation was attempted without appropriate permissions during operation 'attach database'.
Login failed for user 'sa'.
DMS-E-GENERAL, A general exception has occurred during operation 'attach database'.
Login incorrect.
DMS-E-CONNECTREJECT, A connection has been rejected by the remote interface during operation 'attach database'.


what could be wrong?

You're still using Cognos 5!?!

It sounds like your ODBC connections are not set up correctly on those machines. Or those people do not have security to access the tables required.

I am what I am based on the decisions I have made.

i have given them admin access and still the error. In some stations i have not setup the odbc connection and the applications works fine. But i set it up in the bad stations but still same error.

FYI, Cognos 5 NOT supported, so I'm surprised that you're getting that far.
