Error 3734

I am trying to get into an Access database that has the following error message:

"The database has been placed in a state by user <name> on machine <name> that prevents it from being opened or locked. (Error 3734)"

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Hi!

It sounds like the default mode was set to Exclusive. If you go to Tools-Options you will find the default mode on the Advanced tab. Alternatively, if the other user has a form, report or table opened in design view then you can also get this message.

My Access Option is already set to shared and the file won't let me in. Any ideas?

Did you make sure nothing is in design view, that will also keep other people out?
