Error 361 on UserForm load that disappears when code is re-typed

I have a macro that loads a User Form, using the code line
Load UserForm1

It has worked fine on several occasions, but today it produced an Error 361, Can't load or unload object.

After much fiddling and headscratching, I resorted to deleting the line of code and re-typing it in exactly the same way. It worked again!!???

Does anyone have any idea why this happened? I want to try to avoid replication of the problem. It occured in Excel97 - is it a known bug, or just Excel having a tantrum?
