ERROR 3197

I know what this error means. But How do you clear it?? The only way for me to clear it was to delete the table and restore from backup..

I got the following message:

ERROR 3197
The Microsoft Jet database engine stopped the process because you and another user are attempting to change the same data at the same time.

Can anyone help on how to clear this without deletign the table?

What are you doing when you get the error? and is there a second person actually updating the same data?

Apparently, this is a common error message when the database is corrupted. Have you attempted a repair?

Note: You may need to download the JetComp tool if you haven't already. It can repair more problems than Access.

One thing that may help, according to some of the news groups, is to install the latest Jet Engine.

Yes. You can make the install available from a LAN location and send instructions on the installation to all users. The install is fairly simple. Terry L. Broadbent
