From the OrdMain(Parent) form, I created a listbox that includes an Add button to open another form(Child). The Child form is not bound to table however, there is a dynaset that updates (addnew, update then closedynaset) the OrdmMain table AND updates some textboxes on the Parent. After closing the Child form (using either CancelForm NOASK or CloseForm) I'm back on the OrdMain form. Now, when I select the OK button, I receive a message indicating that another user is updating the record (error: 3197) and the only solution to close the OrdMain form is to select the Cancel button (twice), select the line item on the OrdSum form then select the OK button to save the changes.
The Error Function (System) seems like the best place to look and remove the CTEL_E_WRITEFAULT or the CTEL_E_LOCKVIOLATION code. Also, the Error Function contains "Return(True)", if I updated that to "Return
(False), will that eliminate the error message and allow the app to not pop-up the Error: 3197 msg?
I've tried SQL profiler and the ODBC trace with no luck. If someome can assist or point me to the right area to look, I would appreciate it.
