I'm trying to compact a database that resides on a server, and although I am the default admin, I get error #3112 re: no read permission for the database.
I'm attempting to start a new, clean database, so I can just copy everything over. I pulled the database off of the server to my unit, and I still get the same message when trying to compact. When I attempt to copy one of the tables, I get error #3197, that another user is trying to make changes to the same record. Clearly, there are no other users logged on.
I implemented a shortcut icon that specifies a particular .mdw file for security when multiple users are accessing the database on the server, so if I open the database without it, I should be logging in as the default admin.
I'm incredibly frustrated with this issue, so I would appreciate any assistance anyone might offer.
Thanks in advance for your help!
