Error 3069 Action Query Cannot Be Used As A Row Source

Have a customer who claims the following:

"I had a report all set up in Access and it worked fine until I added one more field. Now it doesn't work at all. I took all the text boxes off and am starting again. The message every time i wanted to run it, was "An Action Query Cannot be Used as a Row Source". How can i find the action query it is using? As far as I know all the text boxes are accessing fields from tables"

I have already asked her to verify if the report is based on a table or a query and to look at the control source for all the report controls - and am waiting for her response (or she'll send me the db & I'll look at it myself). In the meantime, I was wondering if anyone here has had a similar error (#3069) appear, why and what the "fix" was.

Hi

The obvious thing (to me) is that if the report really worked before adding one more field, then the problem is probably caused by the row source of that field, so what is the row source of that field?, and does removing that field make it work again?

In my experience the expresion "I only changed one thing", actually means "I only changed one thing, plus the things I forgot to tell you about"

Action Queries are Update, Append, Delete, and Make table. I expect that someone changed the query from a select or totals query to one of these. If that is the case, change it back. It is easy to discover the type of query by viewing its icon in the database window.
