I try to add data into my table after creating the form and it tells me that Record is too large, error 3047. So I am stuck....Can You help

Hi!

Enlarge field size in the table or compare length of entered value on TextBox_BeforeUpdate procedure!

I have the same error 3047 showing up, it causes a synchronization to fail in my client's database. All the literature seems to say the same things as the suggested reply here (enlarge field sizes). In my case, I have no information from Access (A2K) as to which table is the offender. I am guessing that it's my largest (record size) table. Calculating from my design specs, it's less than 600 bytes. How does my user get 1400 more bytes into it to cause this failure? Is it possible there is another table (not a "user" table) that is really the error causer?

Thanks.

Hi, xbigblue!

You can create Memo field for long data.

Hi, Aivars -

I did not state my post too well. I did not mean literally "how can my user get 1400 more bytes of data in?", but I was saying " What could they have done to mess it up this badly - I didn't see any way they could enter an excess 1400 bytes." I already have a memo field in the suspect table for long text entry but Access documentation says the contents of memo field do not count against the 2048 byte limitation.

I'm still looking for guidance on how to find and fix the root problem.

Hi again!

Maybe it is worth-while to save your long data in the separate files on hard disk or server and then make hyperlinks to its?
