Trying to create a setup disk, and I've hit the following problem:
[tt]
Error generating CAB file(s). Error code: 3
Unable to add file to CAB. Check to make sure files exist and are not in use.
[/tt]
I've closed down the project explorer and (according to an MSN bug-fix) set step 3 (where distrib files should be) to be different to step 1 (where source is), all to no avail.

I could probably check whether the files exist, but I don't know what files it's talking about. How do I fix this?

I'm using VFP 6.0 SP3.

[As an aside, how does the setup wizard know where to start, which apps to include, etc, etc? It's a little more involved than VB, because I have multiple apps called from one exe file (created in VFP), but I don't state that anywhere in the wiz.]

First make sure you've read the Help file that describes all the steps in using the Setup Wizard. (VFP 6.0 Help - go to Contents -> Using Visual FoxPro -> Programmer'Guide -> Distributing Applications -> Creating Distribution Disks.)

Many people skip the step of putting the distributed files in a separate directory to do the build, and use their developement directory.

You may want to also consider updating to SP 5 - the setup wizard has been updated (fixed?) since SP3.

1. Open the project and do the project clean up followed by rebuilding the exe with complete component id generation.
2. Close the project and then do the setup creation. ramani :)
