Hi

I have developed an application that uses Access 97, VB 5.0 Sp3, and Crystal Reports 4.3 on Win 95 . When I install the application on another machine.I get a runtime error Error#20534- "Error detected by database dll". THe application works fine on a machine that has VB installed.

I have narrowed the error to the line "CRYstalReport1.Action = 1"

Can anybody help me to remove this error?
Or tell me what do i need to deploy crystal reports 4.3?

Any help is highly appreciated.

Roshan

The Crystal Reports ver is 4.6 not 4.3

I don't know if this is related or not but I spent several days tracking down a problem with the same error message. I am using VB6 and Crystal 8.5 Developer. The database had changed, and when running Verify Database, I was asked to point to the location of the .ddf files (I am reporting on a Btrieve database) When updating the location I accidently pointed to the field.ddf instead of the file.ddf. This is appearently what caused the error. I completely reconstructed the report and it now works fine. Perhaps you can see some similarity in what has happened to you and mabye it will steer you in the right direction. Good luck.

I am getting an "Error detected by database dll" message hosting reports on IIS 5.

I have a win 2000 workstation with IIS 5 and crystal 8.

The reports were written in 8.5 and on this workstation they work fine.

I moved the reports over to a win 2000 server with IIS 5 and crystal 8 and now I am getting this error.

Any ideas?

Cheers

The machine that is showing the error has a different version of dll on it.
We had the same problem before. After we replaced the dll things worked fine.
I don't know which dll it is, the name was the same but the version was different.
