Wonder if anybody has any ideas on the following:

I've got a Windows 2k Network with mainly Win982E clients and a scattering of Win2kPro clients. Two servers - both Domain Controllers. One is a rock -have had no problems with it. Running DHCP and WINS. My problem relates to remote management of the second server in the domain.

Using a Win2kPro machine, I can connect to the first DC with no problems and manage everything. Was managing the second from the same machine using snap ins to an MMC that I custom built. As of about two-three days ago, I can no longer access the second server with certain snap ins. I can look at the event viewer, disk management and WINS but can't see services or shared folders. I get "Error 1722: The RPC Server is Unavailable - Unable to Open Service Control Manager Database" I've tried to view these using an MMC from the first server as well but get the same thing. I've restarted the server, stopped and started services to see if one of them is causing a problem but there is no change. Have had no problems connecting to shares on that server from any clients. Just the problem with the MMC.

Any ideas on what might be going on? When I log into the server and check services, everthing seems to be hunkey dorey. No obvious problems.
