Error 1714 during uninstallation

Using Adobe Acrobat 7.0, when trying to uninstall the program from Add/Remove Programs I get an error:

"Error 1714: The older version of Adobe Acrobat cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group."

I have tried in safe mode as well with no luck.

Any help would be much appreciated.
