I have a SQL server that has been having many problems lately not the least of which is an inability to backup that databases nightly to .BAK files. I have been getting the following error when I do try to back up the database:

1453(Insufficient quota to complete the requested service)

I have search the Forum and found suggestions to reapply the Service Pack as well as Check Quotes in Explorer.

I have applies a the latest Service Pack and the only Quota shwoing are at "No Limit" I believe this is default.

Changes made to the server Recently and may be related/Unrelated:

- Replication was started and then removed
- Comaptability was changed from 6.5 to 7.0 and back to 6.5

Additional information Server is Windows 2000 and SQL is 7.0

Has anyone seen this error before and have some ideas on how to fix it or at least give me a direction to begin looking. I am very hands tied without the ability to back up the database.

Thanks,

Thomas.

Did you check for quotas for the account used to start SQL Server and/or the SQL Agent service?

There was an bug in SQL Server 7 prior to SP3 (KB article 274310). That doesn't appear to be your case, though.

If you want to get the best answer for your question read faq183-874 and faq183-3179.
