I have my hard drive partitioned so I can dual boot XP Pro and Vista Business.

I'm logged into the C: partition which has XP loaded and it is the default OS. I'm trying to load the Adobe Acrobat 7.1 update but I get error 1303 the installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory D:\Windows\winsxs\Policies.

I've done some digging in Adobe's knowledge base and it says to modify the permissions for that folder which makes perfect sense but it shouldn't be installing to the D: partition.

Since I'm installing and update, it doesn't give me the option to select where to install. It should install where the program was originally installed which is the C: partition.

I've searched the registry for a setting that points to D: instead of C: but found nothing.

Any other ideas?
