When I enter a new inventory item number in inventory maintenance, and then hit the copy from button, I get an error: File IT3KAP.SOA not found

Info is:
Error 12: file not found
Program IMWMAA Line 17205
File is IT3KAP.SOA

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Try this I hope it helps you out.

Subject:
Error 12 IMWMAA 10020 when attempting to access Inventory Maintenance or Inventory Inquiry

Possible Resolution:
Note: Use caution when working with repair utilities or editing the System Control File. Modifying this file improperly may cause applications or tasks to no longer function. Always make a backup first. If necessary, seek the assistance of a qualified Sage Software business partner or Sage Software Customer Support analyst.

If Sales Order Processing is not activated for this company code, delete the S/Oxxx (where 'xxx' represents the company code) from SY0CTL.

Open Library Master / Repair / Data File Display and Maintenance.
Click 'OK' after reviewing the warning.
Type "SY0CTL" (without the quotes) in the File Name. Press ENTER.
Click 'Key Scan'.
Click 'Search'.
Type "S/O" (without the quotes) in the search field.
Click 'OK'.
Select any records for S/O and this company code.
Delete these records.

What if Sales Order Processing is activated for this company code? should I follow the directions as they are listed?

The file IT3KAP.SOA does not exist.

I would like to thank both of you for your help on this. I somehow fixed it, but I do not have a clue how I did it. I created a new dummy company and copied it from the one that was not working properly, Then I wiped out the dummy company.

No reasonable explanation for why this worked, but it is working properly now.
