ERROR 1066: Not unique table/alias: 'person'

The database 'testdb' has 2 tables, 'person' and 'team', which have the same structure. I tried the query "LOCK TABLES team READ, person AS team WRITE;", and got the following error:

ERROR 1066: Not unique table/alias: 'person'

What is the worry?
