Error 106 in program IMWMNA at line 0925

I have MAS 90 3.71. I always been able to add an item on the fly. Now when I try I get this error Error 106 in program IMWMNA at line 0925. I have several non-stock - one time use items, shouldn't I be able to add them here w/o putting them in inventory?

Error 106 means bad key block. You should rebuild the key files for the item master file, IM1. Also you can sale non-stock items but you do not have to enter them into inventory. That you are trying to add them on the fly indicates you might not know the program that correctly. I would get with your reseller or a qualified consultant.

I guess I meant that when I am in Sales Order I entered the new part number on the Item/Kit... and then it ask me if this is a new Item and I go from there. I see that I can add items under setup - misc.
