I put macola progression on a new server. Installed the software and then copied all the data files from the old server to the new.

When I run it, I can lookup orders just fine. However when trying to enter a PO or OE, I get an error: "Error 030 on file xxxxxxx.btr. Message #0430"

"Opening procedure failed"

I looked through exact's infomine but they didn't come up with anything. They said to go through the oe setup and save it, which I did. However that didn't help my problem. Anyone else know how I can resolve this?

An opening procedure failed message means that a file is missing that the operation is trying to open. Or one of the setup's isn't complete. If you have IM turned on and for some reason the IM setup isn't done, you'll get the message. Go through each of the different module setups and tab through them to make sure they are set up.

If you're getting the error when entering a PO or a sales order, you may be missing an IM table. To check this, go to system manager | processess | initialize distribution | inventory and check off all of the tables. If a table exists, you'll get a message asking if you REALLY want to initialize it. SAY NO. If the table DOES NOT exist, it will create it without giving you a message.

Typically, I'll start out with just the work files since if I acidentially say YES to the message than I'm not hurting anything by initializing it.

Of course, always have a good backup before you initialize any tables.

I also found one other thing in the infomine about an error 30

How can a Btrieve error 30 on a file be resolved when running Pervasive.SQL 2000.

Answer:

A Btrieve error 30 means the file is corrupt. You can try rebuilding the file within Progression or with the Pervasive.SQL Maintenance Utility. The instructions for using the Pervasive.SQL Maintenance Utility can be found in document 691.360. If the file is unable to be rebuilt, then the file needs to be restored from backup.

TY for your suggestions. I tried the rebuild but to no avail. I will try to copy over the .btr files once again from the main server. It's just weird that I can view the data just not enter any in. File permissions on the files themselves are setup correctly.
