Erratic behavior in IE6

I have WIN2000 Server and when I installed IE6 I started gettingerratic mouse behavior only when I am using IE6, followed by a semi- lockup(the mouse tends to move in the opposite direction from actual movement and I cannot do much else) followed by total lockup. If I press the standby button on my keyboard it sometimes gets better when it comes out of standby. It is acting like a memory leak but I can't tell for sure.

Yes, AVG and Norton both with current definitions.

Try turning down video acceleration (right click on the desktop...)settings/Advanced
