Has anyone seen this before? You call the main number, the auto attendant answers and you pick an extension. You get to the voicemail, it rings once. You hang up. The operator extension then rings once. This is able to be recreated at will. (the error here being that the operator extension rings at all).

I'm not sure what you mean by "you get to the voicemail, it rings once". Do you mean that you hear the coverage tone, a single ring and then hang up?

A few questions:

1. What happens if you don't hang up (after "it rings once")?
2. Is the VM an 007MLM? If so, what COS do you have assigned to the extension?
3. Is the destination extension assigned to Group 30 (or whatever Cover Group it is that's associated with the VM Calling Group)?
4. What is the destination extension's Group Cover Delay set to?
5. What is the Transfer Return Timer set to?

OK some answers:
1. What happens if you don't hang up (after "it rings once")? It goes to VM as expected.

2. Is the VM an 007MLM? YES it is an 007MLM - I have to check the COS.
3. Is the destination extension assigned to Group 30 (or whatever Cover Group it is that's associated with the VM Calling Group)? Yes.
I will check on Q 4&5.

This happens on the operator main phone. Delay values coded there are:
Primary Ring Delay : 2
Secondary Ring Delay: 2
Group Cover Delay : 3
The Merlin return timer setting is 4 rings.

How is the MLX20L operator phone configured, DLC or QCC?

....JIM....

The COS for the operator mail box and most all mail boxes is 2. I will check on the DLC or QCC for the MLX20. Thanks guys!

Dagwoodsystms, Why would enabling Rotary dialing fix this problem ? That adds a delay. It it a trick ? We have all touch tone phones. Did I miss something ?
