Can anyone tell me if it is possible to place a Caller ID unit on an analog extension to track incoming calls to the extension?

Best Regards

Unfortunately that is not possible as far as I know. If present, the incoming A-number is received and analyzed by the MD110. For an analogue Caller ID Unit to work it has to receive the digits as DTMF (Dual Tone Multi Frequency). Problem is that the MD110 does not transfer any incoming digits to an analogue extension line and thus there is no input for the Caller ID Unit.

The only way I can think of is if you are using call logging (SMDR) for the PABX and track what numbers have called that extension.

This would be an internal only application - no trunks involved.

Actually, there is a solution for this, too. Works with ELU21 and ELU29 (internal/external calls).

Hi fcpli / everybody..

could you pls send me the info also.

By the way, i have come across an auto-attendant system consisting of dialogic cards which interfaces with the MD110 system.

In that system, it has a serial link connected to the md110 ( i think it is to the ICU port ).

When calls are transferred to the extension lines of the auto-attendant, there seems be some activities in this port, primarily the caller extension information from the MD110 to the dialogic system.

Wonder if you have any information regarding the protocol of this serial link.

thanks
